Dr. Nawar Issac is an accomplished dentist with 15 years of experience who has focused his practice on Oral Surgery.
After completing his dental and surgical training in Syria, where he practiced for eight years, Dr. Issac relocated to the U.S. and received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry at Tufts University. Today, Dr. Issac is a faculty member at Harvard, Tufts and Boston University Schools of Dental Medicine as well as New York University’s Langone Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program, where he teaches and oversees students and residents in dental and surgical procedures.
As a Syrian American, Dr. Issac is passionate about giving back to the community. While in Syria, he provided free care to refugees who were displaced from their homes. After moving to the US, he continued to volunteer in underserved communities and helped to curate public health programs on community water fluoridation.
In his personal time, Dr. Issac loves to travel and learn about other cultures. He also enjoys music and plays the guitar.
Get to Know Dr. Amin Bakr
Originally from Florida, Dr. Amin Bakr moved north to attend Boston University for his undergraduate studies. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in biology, he went on to earn a Master of Arts in medical studies before completing his doctorate in dental medicine at the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Bakr’s love for working with children led him to pursue a certificate of advanced graduate studies in pediatric dentistry there as well. He is passionate about educating children on the value of taking care of their oral health while making visits to the dentist fun!
Dr. Bakr is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. When he isn’t at the office caring for smiles, he loves cooking and trying new foods.
Dr. Derrick Tengco is a Tufts University School of Dental Medicine graduate who previously practiced in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Tengco traveled down south to earn his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Miami and Masters in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University while soaking in the South Florida sun. Dr. Tengco eventually made his way back to the Northeast to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA.
While attending Tufts, Dr. Tengco participated in many community health outreach programs volunteering his time at local VA homes and promoting oral health practices to elementary schools. In his free time, Dr. Tengco enjoys spending time with his family and cooking in the kitchen to one day be able to serve a proper Filipino dish that would make his grandparents proud.
