Orthodontist

Dr. Sam Alkhoury has been working in dentistry since 1994, and the best part of his job is having the ability to create beautiful, confident, and healthy smiles that can transform his patients’ lives for the better. To learn more about him, keep reading below:

Why Did You Decide to Become an Orthodontist?

The first time Dr. Alkhoury thought about becoming an orthodontist was when he was 17 years old. His sister needed braces for her crooked teeth, and this simple service had a big impact on her quality of life. Before, she’d always been extremely self-conscious about smiling and sometimes even talking. Dr. Alkhoury witnessed her whole personality change firsthand, and it was truly a profound experience. Today, he believes that this is where his passion for the field stemmed from!

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Alkhoury attended Boston University for his Doctor of Dental Medicine, graduating with honors. He then underwent his Residency in Advanced Education in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics at New York University. Over the course of his career, he has been the proud recipient of an orthodontic award from the American Academy of Orthodontists and a Program Director award. He is a current member of the following organizations:

  • American Dental Association
  • Massachusetts Dental Association
  • American Academy of Orthodontists
  • American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Whenever he’s not busy with work, Dr. Alkhoury spends his free time with his family, traveling, and cheering on the Red Sox.
